Summer is here, lycra is out in full force, and cycling season is officially underway. With the Grand Tours just around the corner, there’s no better time to click in those cleats.

Looking for some motivation? The inspiring GWcycles campaign from our brand partner, Gebrüder Weiss could be just what you need.

Now in full gear, GWcycles is more than just a fitness challenge. It’s a company-wide effort that blends wellness, friendly competition, and a deep commitment to the planet. Employees around the world are clocking kilometers on two wheels, trading car commutes for cycle routes, and turning pedal power into real environmental impact.

It’s open to the public too, so anyone can join in. Here’s how you can sign up.

For every kilometer cycled, Gebrüder Weiss contributes to plastic recovery through their partnership with CleanHub. That means every ride doesn’t just count toward team bragging rights, or calories burned! It also helps keep plastic out of the ocean.

And let’s be honest, is there any better excuse to show off your spandex collection than doing it for a good cause?

The Race Against Waste

To date, the GWcycles campaign has logged thousands of kilometers and funded the recovery of plastic waste in coastal regions where waste management doesn’t yet exist. It’s a fantastic example of how businesses can engage their teams and audiences in their focus on sustainability that is more than just words.

It’s also perfectly timed. As cycling fans across Europe settle in for a summer of cycling glory. From the Tour de Suisse to Le Tour itself, Gebrüder Weiss is proving that you don’t need to be in the pro peloton to make a difference. All you need is a bike, a mission, and maybe a few energy gels.

Protect Your Skin and the Sea

Speaking of summer rides, let’s talk skin. We’re proud to also work with Pelotan, a high-performance sun protection brand trusted by elite cyclists and weekend warriors alike. Their range is specifically engineered for endurance sports. It’s ultra-light, sweat-resistant, and made to last from your first hill climb to your final descent.

Pelotan’s mission is to protect every outdoor athlete from the sun and so at the very core of their business is an absolute passion for the natural world in which we train, race and recover.

But there’s more to love: Pelotan is partnered with CleanHub to ensure every product sold helps recover ocean-bound plastic.  In fact, Peloton were one of our first ever brand partners, and have supported our mission ever since, making a massive impact since 2020. Take a look.

So while you’re shielding your skin from the sun, you’re also shielding marine life from plastic waste.

When you head out on a ride this summer, don’t forget your helmet, your water bottle, and your Pelotan. Because protecting your skin and the ocean? That’s a win-win.

Every time you choose Pelotan, you’re making a tiny but meaningful difference to the global problem of ocean plastic pollution.

Top up your Pelotan here.

On Your Bike

To our friends at Gebrüder Weiss: chapeau! The GWcycles campaign is a brilliant example of sustainability in motion. Your commitment to clean oceans, and clean transport is an inspiration.

We’ll be cheering you on as the kilometers rack up. And to anyone else looking for a reason to get back on the bike: this is it. Spandex optional.
